Mark Wahlberg is Calling Out Andy Samberg

Whether it is intended to be a great little piece of publicity or not, it is definitely entertaining. Andy Samberg, one of the regular cast members on Saturday Night Live, recently did a sketch where he pretends to be Mark Wahlberg talking to farm animals. In the sketch he is seen approaching a chicken, it was a real chicken by the way, and he asks the chicken if it would like to do a movie with him. Of course he doesn't get an answer from the chicken and ends the discussion by saying "say hello to your mother for me."

Recently, Wahlberg appeared on the Jimmy Kimmel show. Kimmel showed a clip from the sketch to Wahlberg and asked him what he thought about it. Wahlberg said he wants to go find Samberg and punch him in his big f*&#% nose.

It was hysterical to watch for so many reasons. First of all, there are not a lot of people watching Saturday Night Live anymore. It's unfortunate that the show isn't nearly as good as it used to be, but that's the plain honest truth. Anybody who saw the sketch may or may not think anything of it and definitely will not affect Wahlberg's career.

Samberg does an OK impression but of course, the sketch is not funny. He is obviously trying to take a shot at Wahlberg but it really doesn't make a difference. As I mentioned, nobody cares that much about SNL anymore because of how far it has fallen. That being said, this weekend's episode is rumored to have an appearance by Vice Presidential hopeful Sarah Palin. Tina Fey has been doing a great impersonation of Palin for the past few weeks and is getting lots of press off of it. Again, a fun impression but really not that funny. That being said, Palin's appearance on SNL this weekend promises to bring the best ratings the show has seen in years. To be honest, I think it will be great because I find Palin much funnier than Fey.

As for Wahlberg, he created a great show, Entourage, if you haven't seen it yet, go get it. It is a great show with more great comedy in five minutes than SNL has had in five years. He has nothing to worry about with Samberg and hey, it would be hilarious if he really did find him and slap him around a little bit. It would be great if he said, " I'm gonna give you a beating now but not because you took a shot at me, I'm doing it because you're not funny. If it was funny, I wouldn't lay a finger on you. Now get over here and take your beating."

That would be great and if it were taped, it would be one of the most watched clips in television and internet history. Everybody loves a good scrap between entertainers. Hey, they way I see it, they wanted to get into the entertainment business, then step out into the street and entertain us.
