Jack Black and Kung Fu Panda Giving Back

If you haven't seen Kung Fu Panda yet, go out to your neighbourhood video store and rent it. Of course, if you can find a theatre somewhere that miraculously still has it playing go see it there first. I doubt it's still around but you never know.

Kung Fu Panda is a great film for the whole family and Black is great in it. What I did not know was that funds from the film were going towards a conservation group concerned with maintaining pandas in the world. What most people don't realize is that supposedly there are only 1600 pandas left in the world and as such are considered an endangered species.

I am a big fan of the film and pandas because why not. The film is great and pandas don't really seem to hurt anyone. Except if you check out youtube, I think you might be able to find footage of a Panda in a Beijing zoo trying to eat somebody's jacket because they got a little too close to the cage. Sure pandas look cute and cuddly but they are still wild animals and who doesn't need a little spring jacket in their diet once and a while.

Apparently the pandas' endangered status is directly linked to our encroachment upon their habitat so get out there and fight for the pandas. If you can't fight for pandas wherever you live, go check out the movie anyway I guarantee you will have a fun time. A great cast of supporting characters are in there with Black including Jackie Chan, Angelina Jolie and Dustin Hoffman.
